From November 16 to 19, 2017, the 5th International Symposium on Regional Air Quality Management in Rapidly Developing Economic Regions(RAQM) hosted by ECI was held at Guangzhou, China. More than 700 domestic and foreign scholars from more than ten countries and regions including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Italy, Canada, Finland, Sweden and Singapore attended the conference.
Themed by ‘Air Quality in China: Past, Present and Future’, this 5th edition aims to review the past experiences and lessons of air pollution prevention and control in China, summarize the current status of air pollution and difficulties and challenges in air pollution control, and shed light on ways of pollution prevention and control in the coming decades. We hope the 5th RAQM Symposium can contribute to optimizing air pollution and control technology system, to achieve continuous air quality improvement, and to promote sustainable development and ecological civilization in China and other rapidly economic developing regions alike.The 5th RAQM Symposium has 4 plenary sessions, 24 parallel sessions under 7 main topics, 4 forums, 16 brilliant keynote reports and 24 sub-meetings were held. A total of 184 participants gave speeches at the conference. They shared the latest research results in their respective fields and the prevention and control of air pollution and air quality. Improved insights and reflections.In addition to the Clean Air Forum for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the conference also has Dialogue with Academicians,Global Megacity Air Quality Management Forum,Dialogue with Editors.The guest speakers and the delegates of the forum conducted interactive questions and answers, communicated each other's views, and had frequent interactions on the spot.
The successful convening of this session will further promote the prevention and control of air pollution in China's rapidly developing regions, promote the accelerated improvement of China's air quality during the 13th Five-Year Plan, and provide lessons for air pollution control in other urban agglomerations around the world.
